Had to get up early again this morning and met up with my friend from the American Legion and we went over to General Stanford Elementary at Fort Eustis and did the Americanism program for about 128 1st graders. It was almost noon time I returned home and the temp had warmed up to around 40 so it was not to bad. Headed out the the farm and got in a couple hours metal detecting. Found some neat items today. Here are a few pictures

I did find my first ring out of this field.

Got up this morning and it had rained all night but temp. is supposed to get in the high 60ties today so I think I am heading to the beach. Low tide is 3:00pm and I got down there around noon. Not much has changed since I was here a couple weeks ago. No other surf pirates to be seen today and weather was great. No gold or silver again today. Did find a 1963 Nickel and a Canadian penny. Here is a few pictures.

Got up early this morning to go over to Dutrow Elementary School in Newport News to do a program for the first graders on the American Flag for the American Legion. This program is called Americanism. We go to all the Elementary Schools in Newport News and starting Monday we will start doing the schools in Suffolk. We do a program on the american flag to try and teach the young kids about the flag and what the pledge of allegance means. Well time I got home it was lunch time but that give me a couple free hours to go find some lost history. Well I did manage to find another nice button today and a Mini Ball here are some pictures.
